Life of Marie Curie told to children.
Hello! I am Marie Curie and I will tell you my story.
I was born in 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. My name is then Maria Salomea Skłodowska.
I make brilliant studies that I pursue in Paris.
In 1894 I begin my work in physics and chemistry in laboratory. I meet my husband Pierre Curie, also scientist. By marrying him I become French. We will have two daughters: Irène and Éve.
Alone or with other scientists, I make numerous important discoveries and gain many prizes, including the Nobel prize of Physics and of Chemistry.
However, in 1911, I am victim violent attacks coming from certain newspapers because I am from Poland. My scientific qualities are questioned.
During WW1, I use my scientific knowledges to help wounded soldiers, with cars able to take X-rays.
Sick because of the chemical products I worked with all my life, I die in 1934.
In 1995, I enter the Panthéon. It is a great honor. In this famous place are buried all the people that France wants to honored for their participation in the country’s history.
